A very special Independence Day

The 15th of August is India's Independence Day.

In the time of coronavirus there wasn't much going on except a helicopter that was flying around at what seemed extremely low altitude. We had friends over at the farm for an afternoon of social distancing in the open air.

But something did happen!

Nura, a cat who was given to us by our neighbour and friend, gave birth.

This was not planned.

Nura came over when she was still a kitten so we had to wait before spaying her. She was born on a farm and although she is very friendly, she is also very independent and adventurous. As a result, every time we had booked her operation we could not find her. The day we finally caught her, we noticed she had a very big belly. Oops, too late. A cat's gestation period is very short, just under two months, so we decided to let it be.

She continued her life as normal, hanging out with the stray cat outside who seems to be the father. And on Independence Day four balls of fur came into the world.

There are 3 males and one female, all of lovely colours. We have brought everyone home to avoid a kitten turning into someone's lunch.
