Going back before we move forward

Sometimes it's good to go back in time before taking the big leap forward. And that's exactly what we did. We took a few days off, or transition in my case, to come back to Delhi before going to the US, the first part of our journey over the next 12 months or so.

Delhi will be our base, so we'll be here often. But it was weird to be back, especially as we are staying with close friends who happen to be staying in our old apartment. We used to live there 3 years ago and it hasn't changed a bit. Except this time we stayed in the guest room in the back. The room is painted green with a wide window that lets plenty of light through, which I love. It also happens to be the haunt of a group of boisterous pigeons, so much so that you feel like the pigeons are inside your head. I completely forgot how noisy Delhi nights are. Luckily, since we are on a holiday mood it wasn't too much of a problem.

We went to see the dogs at the farm where they will be staying for the next few months. It's a lovely place just on the outskirts of the city. The three of them are staying together which is fantastic and they all seem to be doing well. They've been here for a month already.

We had plenty of food. It's a treat to be able to eat so much delicious food for so cheap. There's a place I like particularly where I can have one of my favourite dishes, idli sambar, for just about $1.

Our babies pretending they are well behaved to get a treat.

A bit of cuddly time in the baking sun, until next time.

Sweet potato snack. A must.

Fantastic breakfast Babou made for us every morning. Oats, apple, nuts, gur...plenty of goodness!

Us looking tired, even though we weren't really. I guess it just takes a little time getting used to Delhi again.

So long Delhi, see you in two weeks.

California, here we come.
