Buellton, long walks and Flag is Up Farm

We've been in our little haven in California for 10 days now. Mornings are so very cold but it heats up a lot and by mid day we always end up taking off all our lawyers before having to put everything back on by the end of the day.

We walk every morning one hour to reach the Flag is Up farm which is something of a novelty in the area since clearly no one seems to be walking anywhere. People from the class or the farm are constantly offering to pick us up because they feel bad we have to walk so much. But we are very happy doing it (ahem, except maybe for the fact that it is very cold and my face is usually frozen by the time we arrive as though I'd spent a day skiing on the slopes). We're quite happy to have a ride back, though, at the end of a long day.

We're staying in a cottage in the middle of an RV camp. Now, this RV camp has nothing to do with what we had imagined before coming. It is gorgeous, huge, super clean. They are no tents, mainly slots for the RVs (recreational vehicles, it took us ages to figure that one out) to park and several cottages. The cottage is entirely made of wood which makes you feel you're in a chalet in the french alps. There is a kitchen and a barbecue pit so we are completely autonomous and make our own food and packed lunches for the days on the farm.

We already love this place because:

-people are always saying hello to each other, everyone seems very friendly
-the supermarket is full of cool foods that are usually not easy to find (example: garlic salt)
-there is so MUCH SPACE. You can probably only really understand this if you've lived in Asia or in cramped cities, but this space feels awesome
-everyone has a dog.

I pretty much only have photos of horses at the moment, but here's one of the St Valentine's dinner Manjeev organised on our little porch.
