Working with the Friendicoes babies

Manjeev's been spending a fair amount of time at the Friendicoes sanctuary working with the young horses. They aren't that young since they're all about 5 years old but they have not done much yet. Luckily, they have been treated like kings over the past few years spent at the sanctuary which means they are very trusting and, for the most part, easy to work with. 

I love this photo because it looks like they are both asleep. 

At least you can be sure they're relaxed. 

Not bad, the office, hey?

We are surrounded by hundreds of rescued animals. Sadly, donkeys seem to be bearing the brunt of human cruelty is most places around the world. Donkeys are different from horses insofar as their defence mechanism is to freeze when the horse prefers to flee. This 'freeze' is often mistook as stubbornness and probably partly explains why they get beaten so much.
