Rajasthan on horseback (part 1)

One of the disadvantages of delaying uploading the photos of our trip is that I get to go through them again and again to select my favourite ones. Photos are incredible, they really help you relive moments in a wonderful way.

Time really slows down when you travel on horseback. It teaches you to look around and appreciate the small things - a bird nearby, the cows ploughing the fields, the shadow of the sun changing gradually throughout the day. When you live in the city it's sometimes difficult to realise that some people, out there, still manually plant seeds, harvest crops.

One day we stayed with a family who was harvesting their cotton fields. We helped them take the cotton bits out of the plant. It took for ever and was a little painful. To think about the hard work involved in this - not even taking into account the processing of the cotton later on - and then you can buy a T-shirt for so cheap. It's shocking.

It got so hot during the day we were very jealous of the water buffalos

If you know about horses and how easily they spook, I can let you imagine how ours reacted to this!
